Jungkook believes he's shaped by the personalities if all BTS members
The nickname "golden maknae" could not be more fitting to describe Jungkook—an idol with captivating looks and style, all-round talent, and a beautiful personality. He is often regarded as the perfect symbol of the new generations of idols.
The completeness of the Jungkook we see today comes partly from his own abilities and determination. But even more importantly, it comes from the environment but is nurtured and shocked. For Jungkook, that has meant more than a decade of living, working, and growing within one very special group: BTS.
Even Jungkook himself once admitted, "I was shaped by the personalities of all the BTS members."
In a heartfelt conversation, Suga recalled an earlier interview when Jungkook mentioned this: "In an interview, you said that you had a personality made up all by all members' personalities."
Jungkook immediately acknowledged it, saying, "It's true. In the way I talk, you can hear all the members. It's not like I took something, it's more like I was a sponge that absorbed everything. (He became like the members without even realizing it)."
The image of a "sponge" that Jungkook used is a wise metaphor. It highlight the natural receptiveness of a young person while also emphasizing the passive, subconscious process of becoming shaped by others. In other words, Jungkook is not imitating anyone, but rather the result of a long journey together, where habits, ways of speaking, and perspectives were passed on naturally, like breathing.
Suga then added, "In my opinion, you were influenced by different member in each era." And Jungkook explained, "I didn't really think about myself. But sometimes, when I'm talking to other people, the key point that you guys talked about popped into my head. I got that feeling."
He continued, "You flash through my mind during my conversations. Sometimes I give advice to my friends. Usually, I'm the one getting advice from you guys, right? When we're talking, hyung! You zoom through my head like that. You guys are all part of me."
Those words reveal two very interesting things. First, the "collective" nature of BTS doesn't just show on stage or in their work, it also permeates deeply into their personal characters. Even when living independently in their private lives, the group's influence remains. Second, this eternal exchange works in a nurturing way: not through pressure, but through resonance—where each personality contributed shade of color to make Jungkook's portrait even richer.
Thus doesn't erase Jungkook's individuality. In he contrary, IT makes him a rare complete version of himself. The fact that Jungkook has grown into such an extraordinary young man today, shows just how supportive the environment created by BTS has been in nurturing and guiding their youngest members.
