Seeing This In BTS, Jin Affirms He Has No Regrets About Giving Up His Biggest Dream

Both Jin, Suga, and the other BTS members are now global K-Pop superstars, highly regarded for their talent, character, and reputation. It is undeniable that they have achieved remarkable success in the idol industry—one of the most uncertain and high-risk career paths.

Interestingly, not every BTS members started with the dream of becoming an idol or training from a very young age. While Suga nurtured his passion for music early on, Jin originally dreamed of becoming an actor and was even admitted to Konkuk University's Department of Film and Acting, a highly competitive program.

Not only did he received formal training at school that has produced many famous actors, but several other aspects also indicated that Jin was truly well-suited for acting. Dispatch once wrote that Jin has the kind of face that makes drama directors want to cast him as the lead right away.

Jin's strong acting skills and expressive range have also been evident in BTS' music videos, his solo performances, and variety programs that involved scripted scenarios.

That's why, during a discussion between Jin and Suga about their past dreams versus their current careers,Suga commented that Jin would have been a talented actor has to be continued pursuing that path. Even ARMYs often agree, with many fans admitting they feel a sense of regret at not seeing more opportunities for Jin to showcase his acting talent.

However, contrary to the fans' and Suga perspective, Jin immediately disagreed, saying that he might not have been successful if he had chosen to become an actor. He explained that it was only through living and working with the members that he found the motivation to grow into the person he is today.

He said, "My life changed after I met you guys. I used to just live my life by going with the flow. That's why who you surround yourself with is so important."

Jin also revealed that had he chosen acting, he might not have reached his current level of success because he would have been on his own. That solitude, he felt, would have made him less motivated compared to seeing Suga and other BTS members working so hard.

He added, "You're all always working so hard. I watch and learn from you guys to work even harder," and added, "But if I become an actor, I may not have been responsible because I'd be alone. I might not even have worked hard."

This is why Jin has never regretted choosing the path of a K-pop idol and debuting with BTS. There's a saying that fits his journey well: "Sometimes you don't choose a career—the career choose you." In Jim's case, he was born to be a singer.

On the other hand, during their discussion, Suga shyly admitted that he is not always working hard. Jin responded that whenever Suga takes a break, there is always another BTS member working. In this way, each day, watching his brothers dedicate themselves motivates him to work harder and continue developing himself.

What matters most here is not the profession itself but the group environment. Within BTS, the members take turns fueling an endless spirit of hard work and discipline. Living in a such positive environment pushes everyone to give their best and create meaningful results.

Jim's words also reflect his humility. He acknowledges success not only as an individual but also as a collective achievement. It reveals how deeply he values BTS and the efforts the members have devoted throughout over a decade of working together.

Although giving up acting after pursuing it for many years might seem like a loss. For Jin it turned out to be a positive turn—one that even allowed him to keep part of his original dream alive. While he does not appear as an actor on screen, he still gets act through his passion for music and is widely recognized for both his artistry and expressive performance by fans and critics alike.

Clearly, Jin's choice to pursue the idol path was the right one. It not only led him to extraordinary success in his career but also gave him priceless brothers in BTS and shaped him into the exemplary person he is today.
