They raised a room I booked for 53,000 won up to 1,070,000 won.
Those rip-off prices are outrageous.
Suspected they were targeting foreigners.
Comments:
1. Could they be colluding to raise prices like that? If one person says, "I'll act with conscience," they'd be ostracized...
2. During Yet To Come in Busan, the city got tons of criticism for acting up like this--and now they're doing the exact same ridiculous thing again, seriously.
3. I'm really going crazy over these accomodations. Foreign fans are just getting ripped off--can't something be done about this legally?
4. Even the President mentioned price gouging during a Cabinet meeting, and yet they still have no shame?
5. At that price, it'd be cheaper to just book a place in Bucheon, a neighboring citym and take a taxi there. There's a limit to how greedy they can be.
6. These days, everywhere near concert venue is like that--please hit them with heavy fines, or even suspended their businesses.
7. They shoud make that illegal and seize the profits. K-pop and the Korean Wave have thrived, but business owners like these are ruining the country's image.
8. Even overseas, prices go up, but not twentyfold like this. There really needs to be a proper solution.
9. On the other hand, I'm genuinely curious--are there really people willing to pay that much to stay in those places? It's not like Incheon is some remote wasteland. You could just book a place in Seoul or somewhere a bit farther from the venue. I honestly wonder if those rooms even get booked when they raised prices that absurdly.
10. Have they completely lost their conscience..? It's not even Inspire Resort, and Munhak isn't some hard-to-reach area either. For that kind of money, you could just take a taxi to the Shilla Hotel and still spend less, lol. Honestly, at that point, you might as well just head to Incheon Airport and go on an overseas trip.
11. Stuff like this happens all the time--even in the provinces, it's the same. Can't there be a law to stop them from canceling reservations like that?
12. Airlines do the same thing anyway--they charge more during peak seasons and less during off seasons. During golden holidays like this, prices go up several times too.
13. Wow, it's basically just a motel-level hotel, and they're charging over a million won--even canceling existing bookings, lol.
14. I'm really worried foreign fans might get ripped off. Can't they crack down on things like this?
15. It's really terrible. My idol also had a concert in Busan, and I had booked a place a month in advance and even paid the deposit--then, a week before concert, they canceled it, lol. After that, the same place showed up again at ten times the price. I was honestly so disgusted.
16. It might be better to stay at the Toyoko Inn near Bupyeong Station--it's not far by subway. The location of Guwol Hotel is a bit inconvenient...and it'll probably be hard to catch a taxi there too.
17. Even if you can't stop them from raising prices later, shouldn't canceling existing bookings be made illegal?
18. Come to Gyeyang-gu or Bupyeong-gu!!!! ㅠㅠ Seriously, if you take Incheon Subway Line 1, it's really quick--and Gyeyang-gu has lits of residential areas (though, yeah, most hotels are around the bar districts ㅠㅠ But they're still near government offices). They're cheap!!! Try stations along Line 1 like Imhak, Bupyeong-gu Office, Bupyeong Market, or Bupyeong Station!! If the hotel looks a bit far from the station on the map, don't worry--there are plenty of buses ㅠㅠ And isn't raising prices like that just insane? + Soulhada or Charis Hotel near Galsan Station are good since they're more like business hotels ㅠ Toyoko Inn is also great.
19. This is ridiculos. There needs to be a campaign for foreign fans--there are plenty of accomodations just a short subway or bus ride away.
20. The overcharging is bad enough, but canceling bookings just to rice prices should really come with a fine. Such a shameless scammers.
21. A million won? Seriously? They must be out of their minds. I'd rather just take a taxi to Seoul instead.
22. I looked it up, and even Gyeongwonjae, Sheraton, and Oakwood are charging at least 500,000-600,000 won for two people, lol. Are they seriously kidding right now?
23. That hotel did the same thing during my idol's concert--they forcefully canceled all the early reservations and raised the prices. One of my friends got hit by it too.
24. For the fans coming to Incheon--including international ones--just book a cheaper place alont the Incheon Subway Line. The concert venue isn't fare from the stations, and since the Incheon subway runs until late, it shouldn't be too hard to get around.
25. It's not even an area that's normally expensive, lol. 1 million won?? What is this? Zimbabwe-level inflation?
26. I stayed at the Toyoko Inn in Bupyeong for 40,000 won during the Munhak Stadium concert, and I was super satisfied, The price didn't change at all... That's why I totally agreed with the post that went viral last time.
27. These thugs are ruining the country's image... We can't expect them to have any sense of ethics anyway, so let's just revise the law to make sure they're punished legally.
28.It's always like this--they really need to be punished by law. The government is putting so much effort into promoting K-pop, but these greedy businesses are ruining everything.
29. Can't everything be done legally? Nobody should be booking at those inflated prices, but foreign fans who don't know might end up making reservations.
30.I really wish they'd make a law so prices can't be raised like that. I booked a hotel to go to a concert and my reservation got canceled--I kept trying Toyoki Inn over and over and finally managed to snag a canceled room.ㅠ
