After 10 Years, ARMYs Finally Understand What Jungkook Saw in RM All Along

 

 

When Jungkook was still a teenager participating in Supertar K3 in 2011, he received offers from several major entertainment companies in Korea at the time, such as JYP, Cube, FNC, and Starship. Compared to those established names, BigHit Entertainment (now BigHit Music) was a small and relatively unknown agency — hardly an appealing choice for a talented trainee.

However, instead of choosing a prestigious company, Jungkook made the unexpected decision to join BigHit Entertainment, surprising many people. The reason behind that choice was later revealed by Jungkook himself: he joined Big Hit because of RM. 

Jungkook once shared that when he saw RM practicing, he thought RM was amazing and wanted to learn from and work with him."I just simply thought Namjoon hyung was really cool. I really didn't know a lot about being a singer. But when I saw him rap, I just tought he was really, really awesome," he said.

Even at such a young age, Jungkook saw in RM the image of a true artist, someone with talent, vision, and a powerful sense of purpose that deeply inspired him. In his 2019 birthday tweet, Jungkook once again affirmed this admiration by calling RM "my first and last role model."
