It has been reported that the mother of BTS member Suga owns a building worth around 17 billion KRW (approximately $13 million) in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

According to Financial News on the 4th, a corporation represented by Suga's mother purchased land and a building located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu on December 29, 2022. After undergoing construction for about two years, the building—consisting of two basement floor and six aboveground floors with a rooftop—was completed this year.

The building is classified as a Type 2 Neighborhood Living Facility, with a land area of 317m² and a total floor area of 1,875.36m². Ownership registration ws completed in June of this year. The purchase price at the time was around 10.8 billion KRW (approximately $733,200). Although Suga's mother is listed as the company's representative, the company has zero employees and is essentially considered a personal company.

On the first floor of the building is a restaurant operated by Suga's older brother. A restaurant also operates on basement level 1, and a hair salon is located on the third floor. The fourth and fifth floors also appear to be occupied, with the media reporting that the building has very few vacant spaces. Recently, Suga himself reportedly visited the building, walking around the area to check whether ongoing constructiion was causing noise.

Hannam District 3 is the fastest-progressing redevelopment zone among Hannam Districts 1 through 5. It is expected to be the largest redevelopment project in history, with a total project cost exceeding 8 trillion KRW and approximately 5,990 households to be build in the Hannam-dong and Bogwang-dongv areas. Analysts say the purchase of the building is a strategic move aimed at benefiting from the redevelopment of Hannam District 3.

Another reason noted behind the investment is that many BTS members reside the Hannam area. It is known that Suga, Jin, RM, and Jimin currently live in Hannam-dong. In addition to BTS, top stars such as G-Dragon and Bae Yong-joon also reside in the area.

Meanwhile, BTS, including Suga, is expected to release a full-group album and embark on a large-scale world tour in the spring of next year.
