Jungkook's heartfelt message to ARMY who want to leave the fandom goes viral again amid fans' reactions to recent rumors
Over the past few days, the fandom has faced major turmoil as dating rumors linking Jungkook and aespa’s Winter have been spreading rapidly across social media. In fact, the baseless rumors first surfaced around June of this year, but things became even more complicated recently when Korean media began reporting on the issue and when agencies involved gave vague responses.
While ARMYs are trying to defend Jungkook against harsh criticism and online slander, some indecisive fans have started to waver because of the groundless claims, expressing their disappointment with the idol. One K-ARMY account wrote, “To be honest, I fucking hated that you smoked. I fucking hated that you got tattoos. Riding a bike made you look like a damn delinquent, too. Every fucking time I started to lose affection, I forced myself to endure it by thinking of your past (2015–2018^^). But now I can literally hear something in my brain finally snapping.”
Others claimed they used to be ARMYs but now want to exclude Jungkook from BTS’s official lineup or say they will only stan OT6 from now on. Some have even taken a stronger stance and decided to leave the fandom altogether. A number of K-ARMYs are also accusing Jungkook of being the main reason why BTS has gradually been losing domestic fans.
Witnessing the reactions of a portion of fans—especially considering that many of them are Korean fans—ARMYs worldwide have been deeply disappointed. Because of a single unfounded rumor spreading these days, some people suddenly want to leave the fandom. True fans are also questioning whether these people were ever genuine fans of Jungkook or the group in the first place.
In this situation, a past conversation with Jungkook—in which he was asked how he would react if some people were no longer part of the ARMY fandom—has resurfaced and gone viral. What made the video spread so widely was Jungkook’s exceptionally calm and sweet response, which led ARMYs to believe that those who choose to leave at this moment do not deserve such kindness from him.
Specifically, in the clip Jungkook calmly shared that he knew fans coming and going was not surprising, and that he had learned to accept situations like that. He even bravely said goodbye to those who had already left the fandom: “There are some of you who may have already left. But I still want to thank you all no matter when you used to love us. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all those moments with us.”
He was even kind enough to tell fans that they could leave whenever they wanted, but one thing would never change — he and BTS would always be there whenever fans needed them. He said, “I’ll always stay here. Whenever ARMY wants to see me, you can come here anytime. Also, when you have to leave or when you want to leave, you can leave at any time—whenever you want. But as long as you remember this, I will always stay here.”
ARMYs pointed out that a Jungkook who says something like this is far too kind to be criticized or blamed, especially when he has done nothing wrong. While it is true that no one is obligated to love someone forever and it is normal for some fans to leave the fandom, those who now claim to be fans but attack Jungkook or leave simply because they cannot accept a “dating idol”—even though it is nothing more than an unverified rumor—are not worthy of respect.
On social media, Jungkook’s words have been spreading quickly as a wake-up call for fans amid the wave of baseless rumors these days.
ARMYs comments:
1. Before attacking Jungkook or deciding to leave, at least remember the words he once said. Think carefully whether baseless rumors are truly worth turning your back on him.
2. His words... Are these unproven rumors really enough to make you abandon someone who has never done anything wrong?
3. Jungkook respects those who leave respectfully for real reasons, not fake fans who throw tantrums over rumors.
4. If you were a Jungkook fan, you would know how much he loves us. He's way too good to be attacked over baseless rumors. Please, stay rational.
5. Korean fans are seriously the worst sometimes. Why are you mad at the concept of your "idol" getting tattoos, riding motorcycles, and, most of all, dating somebody else who was never going to be yours?
6. It's 2025, and this is probably either a grown-ass woman or man still believing they can date Jeon Jungkook. Korean K-pop fans forever insane! There's no saving these delusional people, and it's sad that celebrities have to suffer because of them.
7. All this over his private life, which you shouldn't be meddling in the first place.
8. JK is too sweet. Those beeches don't deserve such kind words.
9. If you want to leave, fine. Just do it politely. Those acting toxic over baseless dating gossip were never real ARMY anyway.
10. Before you criticize Jungkook, recall how sincerely he spoke and ask yourself whether these groundless rumors change your whole view of him.
