Pramono wants BTS concert to be held at JIS in late December 2026
The Governor of Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has asked the management of Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to make efforts to ensure that the South Korea boy band BTS can perform at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) at the end of 2026.
Pramono believes that JIS already suitable to serve as a venue for international music concerts, as it is supported by increasingly improved infrastructure and transportation access..
"Earlier, I specifically asked the President Director of JIS to try to secure BTS for December 26-27, when they're scheduled to perform in Jakarta. If they can perform at JIS, that would be very good. Why? In terms of transportation, it is certainly no longer like it used to be; the parking area is spacious and Can also utilize parking facilities in Ancol," Pramono said in North Jakarta on Sunday (January 25, 2026).
According to Pramono, JIS is currently undergoing continuous improvements. The construction of JIS station, which will be integrated with the commuter rail station services, is targeted for completion in April 2026 and is expected to begin operations in June 2026.
In addition, the pedestrian bridge that connecting JIS with the Ancol area is also targeted to be completed in May 2026.
"People will be able to come to JIS easily because there is commuter rail access and TransJakarta services, so this area can truly become a promising area in the future," he said.
Pramono stated that the public can reach JIS using commuter line and TransJakarta buses.
Parking areas are also widely available, as the can utilize the Ancol area.
He hopes that JIS will not only be used for sport events, but also for major music concerts by international artists.
"In addition to being a sports facility, of course it can also host large concerts, whether Bon Jovi or Coldplay," said Pramono.
Pramono assessed that the JIS area has the potential to become a promising entertainment hub in Jakarta.
"People will be able to come to JIS easily because there is commuter line access and TransJakarta services, so this area can truly become a promising area in the future," he added.
