Concerned for ARMYs Facing Extreme Weather in Mexico, BTS Makes a Special Request to HYBE

On the 7th (local time), more than 65,000 people filled Estadio GNP Seguros—a stadium even larger than the Tokyo Dome, which has a capacity of 50,000. Throughout the 180-minute performance, silver lightsticks changing color with each song painted the night sky over Mexico in shimmering shades of silver, red, and purple. Although the stadium is located near the airport, with planes constantly taking off and landing, no one could hear the roar of the aircraft engines over the overwhelming energy of the concert.

"Seeing how passionate you all are, we're truly sorry that we couldn't come here for the past 10 years." As Suga shared that night, this marked BTS's first return to Mexico City in nearly 10 years, since 2017. The phrase the members repeated most often throughout the concert was "Te amo, Te quiero"—both meaning "I love you." The members also emphasized that during their next tour, they "absolutely have to come back to Mexico."

BTS will continue the excitement with concerts n the 9th and 10th at the same venue. In addition, many special fan-focused events are taking place across Mexico City to celebrate the memorable tour by the K-pop superstars.

Among them, the event attracting the most attention from fans is BTS POP-UP ARIRANG, held at Colima 194 in Roma Norte—a space featuring merchandise, albums, and immersive experiences inspired by the "ARIRANG" theme. In particular, fans who attended the event in person even received a special surprise from the BTS members themselves.

According to reports from attendees at BTS POP-UP: ARIRANG, HYBE staff informed fans that the BTS members personally requested that ice cream and balloons be prepared and distributed at the venue to lift fans' spirits. Many ARMYs shared photos of ice cream cups printed with the ARIRANG logo, along with heart-shaped balloon bouquets in gray and red tones matching the album's concept.

Mexico City is currently experiencing an intense heatwave, with temperatures ranging from 26-32°C during midday and the early afternoon. Meanwhile, the venue itself was not equipped with air conditioning, yet fans still lined up in massive queues while waiting for their turn to enter. One fan shared on social media: "My mum was at 1 p.m., and I queued until 5 p.m." Numerous videos circulating online showed fans sitting or even lying on the floor from exhaustion and fatigue.

BTS's simple yet meaningful gifts truly felt like a cool breeze sweeping through Roma Norte, lifting fans' spirits even further. That is why, despite the harsh weather, fans still formed long lines, determined to purchase ARIRANG souvenirs at all costs.

On the other hands, this is far from the first time BTS has taken care of fans with food and drinks. During the Permission to Dance On Stage concerts at SoFi Stadium in 2021, BTS collaborated with McDonald's to set up food trucks that handed out free coffee, hash browns, fries, and photocards to concertgoers.

At BTS FESTA 2024 in Seoul, ARMYs also received free iced Americanos at the event venue. Even further back, during a comeback stage in 2017, BTS and their management company prepared bread, Capri Sun, and snacks for around 600 fans who had been waiting for hours. On several occasions, BTS members themselves—such as Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook—surprised fans by personally paying for cold drinks, snacks, or even renting large air-conditioner waiting areas for them.

These consistent and thoughtful gestures clearly reflect the genuine care the seven members have always shown toward the fandom that has stood by them for more than a decade. Fans could not help but feel deeply moved by their idols.

ARMYs Reactions:

- This is so lovely. BTS is showering ARMY with love. It's nice to see them having such a great time

- BTS's love for ARMY is undeniable. No other artist has shown this level of love and consistency toward their fans.

- BTS's thoughtfulness and kindness are so heartwarming. They truly understand how much waiting outside in the heat and crowds can take a toll on the body.

- OMG, this is so sweet! They boys sent ice cream to the ARMYs visiting pop-up in Mexico.

- This reminds me of a story from an ARMY who went to their show here in 2019. People at the barricade were fainting because of the heat and crowds, but the promoter refused to give out water because it would cut into profits. So BTS stepped in and paid for the water out of their own pockets.

- This is exactl why BTS is so loved around the world. They never treat fans like customers—theny genuinely care about ARMYs' well-being.

- No matter how huge BTS becomes, they still pay attention to the smallest details when it comes to their fans.

- The fact that they worried about fans getting heat exhaustion and personally asked HYBE to prepare ice cream and balloons is incredibly thoughtful.
