RM Surprises Fans by Revealing His Ultra-Luxury Car After Getting His Driver's License

As ARMYs know, RM officially announced that he had passed South Korea's standard Class 2 driver's license test in December 2025 at the age of 31, bringing an end to a years-long journey toward a goal that he himself admitted was far from easy. The BTS leader also became the final member of the group to obtain a driver's license, making both fans and his fellow members incredibly proud.

Interestingly, despite finally earning his license, RM revealed during a conversation with Epik High in March of this year that he had no plans to buy a car. He explained that his main motivation was simply to overcome his fear of driving and the "psychological trauma" he associated with it. However, it seems that after becoming a new driver, RM quickly discovered a greater passion for driving and changed his mind not long afterward.

Earlier this June, RM shared a photo on Instagram featuring a sticker that read "Beginner Driver." In Korea, using such a sign is recommended by authorities as part of safe driving practices for newly licensed drivers. This small detail led fans to believe that RM had purchased his very first car and was actively adjusting to life behind the wheel.

Since then, ARMYs have been extremely curious about what kind of vehicle RM chose, and their curiosity was finally satisfied following his latest reveal.

On the 19th, RM uploaded a series of photos taken after BTS's two recent concerts in Busan, including both onstage and offstage moments, as well as references to his deepest love for Pokémon. However, one particular photo immediately caugh ARMYs' attention more than any other: a snapshot of RM driving with an intensely focused expression on his face.

Many ARMYs found the image adorable, nothin that from the way he held the steering wheen and his serious expression, it was easy to tell that he is the type of driver who approaches the road with extreme caution.

What sparked even more discussion among ARMY, however, was the vehicle RM appeared to be driving. After carefully analyzing the interior details, window frame design, seating position, and roof structure visible in the photo, eagle-eyed ARMYs concluded that RM was behind the wheel of a Mercedes G-Wagon—specifically, the Mercedes-AMG G 63, the highest-performance and most expensive version of the G-Class lineup.

In South Korea, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 is priced at approximately 249 million won (approximately US$162.275), before taxes and customisation options. It is not merely a luxury SUV but is widely regarded as a status symbol among business executives, celebrities, and elite athletes.

The model is famous for its rare combination of genuine off-road capability, exceptional performance, and top-tier luxury. the G 63 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing around 557 horsepower, significantly outperforming most conventional SUVs. Inside, it features premium Nappa leather upholstery, massage, heated and ventilated seats, a Burmester sound system, and numerous handcrafted AMG-exclusive details.

Although the vehicle comes with a hefty price tag, it is easily within reach for one of the world's biggest K-pop superstars. In fact, RM previously purchased his luxury Nine One Hannam apartment entirely in cash, making the cost of the vehicle relatively manageable by comparison.

More importantly, many fans believe the G 63 is a perfect match for RM himself. The idol stands at approximately 181cm tall and has developed a noticeably broader and more muscular upper body following his military service. With its elevated seating position, spacious cabin, and generous headroom, the G 63 is often considered an ideal vehicle for someone with a larger frame. 

Beyond its practically, the luxury SUV also seems to align perfectly with RM's personality and public image. RM is widely known as  wealthy yet low-key artist who is calm, intellectual, and drawn to a  minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes quality over flashiness. Compared to attention-grabbing supercars such as the Ferrari 296 GTB or Lamborghini Aventador, the G 63 projects a different image: successful without being overly showy, powerful yet still practical.
