Forbes Korea Reveals BTS' Massive 2026 Earnings, Fueled by Global Tour and Major Brand Deals
Forbes Korea has unveiled it "Power Celebrity Estimated Income Top 10," highlighting the diverse business portfolios and formidable earning power of globally active K-pop stars. The ranking estimates celebrities' pre-tax earnings based on a range of revenue streams, including music sales, live performances, television and film appearances, annual salaries, and endorsement deals.
From the outset, Forbes Korea has taken a distinct approach to measuring celebrity influence. Rather than focusing primarily on public popularity, the publication places greater emphasis on economic impact. Its analysis examines the flow of capital, the sustainability of a celebrity's influence, and their ability to generate revenue across multiple industries.
From this perspective, celebrities are more than entertainers; they are valuable commercial assets. Revenue serves as an indicator of who is driving the market, making economic influence a central component of Forbes Korea's Celebrity Index.
The methodology gives the ranking significance comparable to the publication's annual "Power Celebrities 40 List," where BTS reclaimed the No. 1 position this year. The group has now also topped the "Power Celebrity Estimated Income Top 10," posting an extraordinary earnings figure that underscores its continued influence on the global entertainment industry.
According to Forbes Korea, BTS recorded estimated total earnings of 334 billion KRW (approximately US$ 245,658,804). The figure comes only months after the group's first full-member comeback following nearly four years of limited group activities due to military service, as well as the release of its new album in March 2026.
Forbes Korea reported that a substantial portion of BTS' earnings came from massive advance payments associated with the group's 2026 album release, along with incentive payments generated through renewed contractual agreements with global distributors.
The group's stadium-scale world tour, BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG', has also emerged as a major source of revenue.
As of May 2026, BTS had completed the first nine shows of the tour, which kicked off on April 9 at Goyang Stadium shortly after the group's comeback. According to current plans, the tour will continue through March 2027, encompassing 79—and potentially more than 85—concerts across 34 cities in 23 countries.
Forbes Korea noted that the sheer scale of the tour could place BTS among the world's highest-grossing touring artists during the coming period.
Beyond music and touring, BTS's extensive portfolio of brand partnership continues to generate substantial revenue. According to the report, the seven members collectively hold 31 ambassadorial and exclusive endorsement agreements with leading global luxury fashion, beauty, and jewelry brands, including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Valentino, Celine, Cartier, Calvin Klein, Bottega Veneta, and Tiffany & Co.
Following the completion of their military service, the members not only renewed existing partnerships but also entered into numerous new exclusive agreements. Compensation for individual contracts was reportedly worth anywhere from several billion to tens of billions of won.
Forbes Korea identified these lucrative brand partnerships as another key factor behind BTS' continued commercial strength in the global market.
The group has also expanded its revenue streams beyond conventional music activities through exclusive global livestreaming rights, original documentary productions, and remastered concert content distributed through Netflix. These ventures demonstrate BTS' ability to extend and monetize its intellectual property across multiple forms of entertainment and media.
Meanwhile, Forbes U.S.'s recent "Highest-Paid Musicians" ranking, based on 2026 reports, placed The Weeknd at No. 1 with estimated earnings of US$ 298 million (approximately KRW 405,202,520,000). BTS' 2026 earnings, as compiled by Forbes Korea, have already surpassed the US$ 202 million (approximately KRW 274,697,780,000) reportedly earned by Taylor Swift, who ranked second.
Forbes Korea further suggested that BTS could potentially surpass The Weeknd in next year's rankings once the group completes its extensive world tour.
Forbes Korea also highlighted the group's growing global visibility, stating: "In particular, as the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) made a surprise decision to select BTS as the first-ever headliner for the North American World Cup final halftime show, domestic and international media outlets are pouring out predictions, stating: 'BTS, standing before 1.4 billion viewers, will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with global giants like Taylor Swift and peak as this year's highest-earning artists.'"
BTS' dominance extends beyond the group itself. Individual members also occupied nearly the entire Top 10 of the ranking, with Jin at No. 4, Jungkook at No. 5, V at No. 6, Jimin at No. 7, j-hope at No. 8, and RM at No. 9.
Forbes Korea explained that the individual members' earnings were calculated separately from the group's revenue. These figures included income from luxury brand ambassadorships, documentaries, variety programs, artistic collaborations, music productions, and solo music royalties.
The results underscore the extraordinary scale of BTS' commercial reach. Nearly a decade after establishing themselves as the forefront of K-pop, the seven-member group has evolved far beyond the boundaries of a traditional music act, building a global cultural brand with significant influence across music, fashion, entertainment, media, and the broader consumer market.
