BTS Jungkook documentary film earns over 28.5 million dollars, ranking #1 in music movie earnings for 2024

BTS's Jungkook documentary film "Jungkook : I AM STILL" has ranked #1 in earnings among music films in 2024.

Recently, the British music magazine NME spotlighted the film on its official website the headline "Jungkook documentary 'I AM STILL' records $18.5 million (approximately 26.5 billion won as of December 11) in global earnings."

The platform reported that "I AM STILL," the documentary showcasing Jungkook's solo activities, has earned $18.5 million worldwide at the box office.




It has been reported that more than 1.3 million people have watched this documentary in theatres so far. According to global distributor Trafalgar Releasing, it is the highest-grossing music film event of 2024 and the highest-grossing film of an Asian solo artist.

During its opening weekend, the documentary topped the box office in Brazil and ranked 2nd in Mexico and Chile. It also entered the top 10 box office ranking in North America, Germany, Italy, and Malaysia, achieving remarkable performance worldwide despite being a documentary.

Previously, Trafalgar Releasing CEO Mark Allenby stated, "The success of 'Jungkook : I AM STILL' is astounding. As the highest-grossing music film event of 2024 on the highest-grossing film of an Asian solo artist, this achievement can be attribute to Jungkook's continually radiated charm and the bond he shares with fans around the world. I am proud to see this milestone recognized on the global stage."

Rolling Stone magazine in Brazil, where Jungkook's "Jungkook : I AM STILL" topped the box office, also reported on the global box office surge will the title, "BTS Jungkook documentary 'I AM STILL' surpass $18 million."

"Jungkook : I AM STILL" has secured a position in the top 20 of all-time global box office for concert and performance films and achieved over $11.65 million (approximately 16.7 billion won) in revenue worldwide in just about 11 days after its release.




The World Music Award (WMA), known as the "Billboard of Europe," reported that Jungkook has become the only solo artist in history to surpass $10 million in international box office revenue with a concert film alongside Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Madonna, and Beyoncรฉ.

Meanwhile, starting from the 3rd, the expanded version series of Jungkook's documentary film titled "Jungkook : I AM STILL The Original," was released on OTT platform Disney+. "Jungkook : I AM STILL The Original" consists of a total of three episodes.
