The Choreographer of Michael Jackson & Beyoncé unexpectedly shares her desire to collaborate with this BTS member

 

BTS is one of the K-pop groups most open to collaborating with international artists, constantly pushing the boundaries of the genre. Many of the group's musical projects have involved singers, songwriters, producers, dancer, and choreographers from outside Korea, creating impressive intersection of music and art.

Representative examples include "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey, "My Universe" in collaboration with the British legends Coldplay, "Make IT Right" and "Permission to Dance" with contribution from Ed Sheeran, "Waste It On Me" and "Best Of Me" produced by Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers, as well as the striking choreographies for "Not Today," "Dope," and "Fire" created by Keone Madrid, and "Dionysus" created by Hawaiian dancer Sienna Lalau.

Kany Diabaté now seem eager to join the lineup of artists who have collaborated with  BTS, as she recently expressed her desire to work with one of the members.

Recently, instead of staying behind the scenes, Kany has become a standout presence on various entertainment show and online platforms thanks to her cheerful personality and energy. In particular, her YouTube web show "Finding Kany" and "Smooth Smooth" challenge—which she created spontaneously while studying Korean—have gone viral and become well-known memes across social media.

However, in terms of her professional career, Kany is firmly established as a world-class choreographer. She is a popular dancer and choreographer who has worked with Beyoncé on her world tour on has also collaborated with Michael Jackson and Ariana Grande. She has been involved in many large-scale international performance.

For Kany, dance is "everything." 

"Everyone in my family danced. My grandmother was a dancer too. I saw Michael Jackson and thought, 'I want to be like that.' Thanks to dance, there would be no Kany," she emphasized.

In recent years, she gained extensive experience in stage production for major K-pop artists such as Viviz, Badvillain, SHINee's Key, and others. Through her work, Kany has demonstrated a wide creative range across various genres.

She said that working with many K-pop artists has made her even more drawn to be charm of K-pop.

"Compared to artists overseas, K-pop is totally different. In the U.S., dance is rarely emphasized, and practicing directly with the artist is uncommon. Sometimes you only meet them for the first time on the day of the music video shoot. But in Korea, the rehearsal process with artists is systematic. Choreographers have much more room to participate in the creative process, so I really like the Korean style," she said.

Kany's passion for working within the K-pop genre prompted the interviewer to ask which K-pop artists she would like to collaborate with the future. The dancer immediately listed several idols, including Jungkook, and didn't forget to add, " Please contact my manager anytime," which made everyone laugh.

Once the clip began spreading widely on social media, Kany's candid message instantly sent ARMYs into a frenzy. Her admiration and praise for Jungkook not only highlight his powerful appeal but also reaffirm exceptional talent as an artist.

Fans have also shown strong support for her proposal. Many comments tagged Big Hit Music or Jungkook, expressing hopes that the two get the opportunity to work together. Fans also noted that Kany's dance style aligns extremely well with Jungkook's, and their collaboration would surely in a masterpiece.

Meanwhile, Jungkook already has extensive experience working with international choreographers and dancers on his previous solo releases. BTS's golden maknae collaborated with Brian Puspos—a Filipino-American choreographer/dancer—for "Seven" and "Standing Next To You," Keone Madrid, Shay Latukolan, Sienna Lalau, and Lyle Beniga have also contributed to the choreographer for those songs.

For that reason, a collaboration between Jungkook and Kany Diabaté is entirely possible. Fans have been leaving excited comments such as:
