The Reason Why Jungkook Chose a Different Outfit From the Other BTS Members During the Visit to National Palace

On May 6 (local time), BTS met with Claudia Sheinbaum at National Palace. The visit took place following an official invitation from President Sheinbaum ahead of the group's three-day concert series at Estadio GNP Seguros. The meeting lasted approximately 40 minutes.

The Mexican government welcomed BTS with honors reserved for "Distinguished Guests" and presented the group with a commemorative medal in recognition of their positive contributions. The inscription on the medal highlighted how BTS has inspired Mexican youth through music while also helping foster a community built on respect, empathy, diversity, and peace.

Following their conversation with President Sheinbaum, all seven members stepped onto the balcony with her to greet around 50,000 people gathered at Zocalo. The members spoke in Spanish to express their affection for fans, saying, "We really missed Mexico" and "Thank you for always supporting us." In response, tens of thousands of fans created an electrifying atmosphee with thunderous cheers and banners reading, "BTS is always in the heart of Mexico."

All seven members looked like noble princes in their elegant outfits. However, fans paid particular attention to Jungkook's styling because it was noticeably different from that of the other six members. While the rest of the group wore coordinated suits consisting of dress shirts and outer vests—with half of the looks even including ties—Jungkook appeared wearing only a navy blue shirt.

Meanwhile, Maison Talorable uploaded a video featuring close-up shots of the seven outfits specially designed for BTS for the visit. Originally, all seven outfits—including Jungkook's—featured outer vests. Jungkook's vest was in a tone very similar to his shirt. However, it appears that Jungkook decided not to wear it during the actual visit.

Yet this seemingly simple choice ended up making the BTS maknae stand out even more. The fitted shirt emphasized his broad shoulders, toned phisique, and muscular build. Many ARMYs commented tht wearing only a shirt gave Jungkook a youthful and modern image that perfectly matched his role as the group's youngest member. In particular, fans also loved how the artistic tattoos on his arm were left visible.

The difference in Jungkook's outfit also sparked speculation about the reasoning behind it. Some believe it was Jungkook's own decision, reflecting his personal style as someone known for his free-spirited and individualistic energy. Wearing only a shirt instead of a full vest also softened the group's overall formal vibe, especially since the older members were dressed in highly ceremonial-looking outfits.

On the other hand, some fans believe the extreme weather in Mexico City during BTS's visit to the palace may have been another reason why Jungkook chose not to wear the vest. According to local residents, Mexico City is currently experiencing a heatwave, with temperatures reaching as high as 32°C. Firefighters even had to spray water over crowds gathered outide the National Palace in order to prevent heatstroke.

Ultimately, regardless of the real reason, the moment the idol appeare in the navy shirt created a wave of admiration across the globe.

ARMYs Reactions:

1. When I tell you he wanted to flex those muscles, tiny waist and tattoos—he's insane!

2. He still looks good without it... More youthful.

3. He might be sensitive to heat, and the tie may have felt tight around his thick neck. But it turned out really well.

4. Outside his own country, where he can truly be himself. Otherwise, he has to hide everything.

5. I think it's good that Jungkook didn't wear the jacket. It made the look even more stunning.

6. He probably sweats easily when it's too hot, so maybe that's why he didn't wear the blazer. With this heat, who would want to wear more clothes than necessary?
