The Truth Behind Claims That Jimin Was Hit by a Phone Thrown by an ARMY at the LA Concert

BTS ARMYs filled every seat in the stands at the massive stadium in Los Angeles, USA. The city of Los Angeles even officially declared this week "BTS Week" to give the group a grand-scale welcome. BTS once again demonstrated their far-reaching cultural influence by selling out all four nights of their concert.

The lightsticks in the stand shifted from red to blue before once again bathing the stadium in a magical purple glow, following the rhythm of the songs, In the heart of Los Angeles, the melody of "Arirang" echoed through the voices of 70,000 fans singing along. Notably, the opening night also fell on the birthday of the group's youngest member, Jungkook. Even though many fans were not yet fluent in Korean, they still prepared a heartfelt birthday song while lighting up the stadium with a golden glow.

Although the first concert night came to an end with many beautiful and memorable moments, an undercurrent of tension emerged among some groups of fans on social media.

Specifically, some so-called solo fans spread claims that Jimin was hit by a phone allegedly thrown at him by a fan during BTS's first concert night in LA. They also shared a video showing Jimin picking up a phone from the floor as he walked past the extended stage. The idol appeared somewhat surprised before handling the item over to a staff member to deal with.

Notably, a person who claimed to have been present in the area where the incident occured also accused fans of other members of being responsible for throwing the phone onto the stage. As these claims spread, people who portrayed themselves as fighting for or protecting Jimin even dragged BigHit Music and SoFi Stadium into the matter. They called for measures to be taken to ensure the artist's safety, posting the message: "Immediate action is needed to ensure Jimin's safety."

However, after many ARMYs searched for and compared additional videos recorded from different angles during the performance, the incident appeared to be quite different from how it was initially portrayed. Level-headed ARMYs pointed out that the claims exaggerated the severity of the incident and accused some fans of attempting to create another victimization narrative.

Several videos showed that the phone had already been lying on the extended stage for some time before Jimin walked over and noticed it. This contradicts the claim that a fan had thrown the phone directly at the idol. One fan wrote: "I'm in no way defending the person who did this crazy thing and threw the phone on stage, but to be fair, in this video you can see that the phone was already on stage before Jimin found it."

Many ARMYs agreed that throwing objects onto the stage is inappropriate and could potentially put the artist in danger. However, they argued that exaggerating the details or falsely blame fans of another member was excessive and misleading. Many also questioned whether some people were creating unnecessary controversy under the guise of protecting Jimin, ultimately disrupting the positive atmosphere among fans within the fandom.

As the debate grew increasingly heated, ARMYs called on other fans to carefully verify photos, videos, and information before getting swept upin meaningless fan wars. Fans left numerous comments discussing the situation:
