J-Hope of BTS held a grand solo world tour concert in Indonesia, drawing enthusiastic attention from both local media and fans.

On the 3rd and 4th, J-Hope performed his "HOPE ON THE STAGE" concert at Indonesia Arena in Jakarta. The venue has a maximum capacity of 16,500 and tickets sold out within just two hours during the fan club/membership pre-sale. Around 1,000 ARMYs who couldn't get tickets gathered outside the venue and sang along for about two hours, sharing in the experience despite not being inside.

So far, J-Hope has held 23 concerts, performing a total of 27 songs. Each show has been praised as "the best performance," thanks to its fresh atmosphere and J-Hope's increasingly refined stage presence.

Above all, J-Hope opens each show with a freestyle dance during the intro of "on the street (with J.Cole)," delivering a unique performance every time. At this concert, he particularly wowed fans with a graceful move where he swifty swung one arm front to back, creating a visually stunning moment.

Local media also gave rave reviews.

Indonesia's news channel tvOnenews covered J-Hope's concert as a major story, even connecting live to the concert venue. The broadcast included footage of the first night's performance, fan interviews, and crowds waiting outside. The reporter remarked, "J-Hope spent two joyful hours with tons of thousands of fans, delivering a top-quality performance."

Indonesian radio broadcaster VOI (Voice Of Indonesia) published a review titled "World-class music concert production." VOI praised J-Hope, saying, "He is undeniably a global idol and performer who can command a massive stage as a solo artist in front of of tons of thousands of fans."

Notably, one review highlighted, "We expected J-Hope's concert—like many other K-pop idol performances to focus more on fans interaction than the stage performance itself. But we were proven wrong. J-Hope's live stage, accompanied by a full band, for surpassed the standard set by many K-pop artists who often rely on pre-recorded backing tracks."

The production quality of the show also received high praise: "The sound output was also clean and crisp, delivering a satisfying auditory experience, and J-Hope was clearly visible from a relatively close distance."

The review continued, "What impressed us the most was the dynamic staging throughout the concert. The main stage, based on a thrust stage concept, was composed of 20 rectangular lifts, each capable of adjusting height. This ever-changing setup kept audience excited for what new form would appear with each song. J-Hope deserves major applause—singing and dancing with backup dancers amid constant stage transitions is no easy treat."

The energy from local fans was just as passionate as in any other major city on the tour.

The Indonesian fanbase of J-Hope, J-Hope Indonesia, created and distributed two handheld banners featuring Korean messages that read: "J-Hope, you're the brightest star" and "Tonight our dream will be sweet. Thank you for coming to Indonesia, J-Hope."

During the performance of "Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)," fans lit up the venue with a sea of phone flashlights, creating a moving, unforgettable moment. A photo booth was set up outside the venue for fans to capture memories.

A volunteer group of Indonesian ARMY, known as the HOPEWORLD TEAM, gave out the ARMEAL sets—sandwiches and drinks for fans, and also organised a cleanup around the venue, which received praise for their thoughtful initiative.

One fan even purchased a large LED video in Plaza Indonesia featuring stunning footage from J-Hope's world tour. Another fan sponsored a similar LED ad near the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium.

Dozens of welcome banners were hung on streetlights near the venue by other ARMYs, decorated with various photos, fan arts, and messages of support for J-Hope, adding to the emotional atmosphere.

A different fan club promoted the concert by running two trucks decorated with J-Hope's images and slogans around Jakarta for four days. Others hosted a "J-Ice In The Box" event, handing out the free ice cream to concert-goers.

Across Jakarta, the city come alive with celebrating events. On April 20th, hundreds of ARMYs gathered at Gajah Mada Plaza (GMP) for free event titled "Noraebang Road to Concert: Hope from Jakarta!", celebrating J-Hope's upcoming show. There was also a unique event called "Hope On The Bus," where ARMYs rode an open-top-double-decker bus around the city, singing along J-Hope's songs. At Kota Kasablanka Mall, a cup sleeve event was held to mark the occasion.

A video that showing local police using detection dogs to inspect the venue for safety went viral, drawing attention to the high level of security. The local event organizer, IME, received praise from attendees for its thoughtful service, including distributing free snacks and bottled water. Sprite, a beverage famously enjoyed by J-Hope, also gained ARMYs appreciation by offering free drinks at the venue entrance.

However, there was some backlash from fans regarding the "ARMY Time" segment, during which ARMY slogans are displayed on the venue's screen. Fans voiced concerns on social media, urging BigHit Music to "thoroughly announce and enforce in-venue viewing guidelines for the safety of the artist," and emphasized that "ARMY Time is meant to support the artist while preparing for the encore stage. Only respectful banners showing love and support for J-Hope should be featured."

J-Hope's world tour will continue this weekend in Thailand, followed by stops in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan, before culminating in encore performances in Seoul on June 13th and 14th.
