BTS not only bound together by a contract lasting more than a decade, but also by the close affection of members in one big family. In Yoongi's own words: "They're the people I've been with and seen the most in the 30 years of my life. We've really become a family. There's no other words to describe our relationship. We're family."

This bond does not stop between the seven members, but also extends to each member's family. The parents of the members all care for and show affection to all "seven" children as if they were their own flesh and blood.




Sometimes, the parents of one member are even tied to something famous about another member. The story between Yoongi's father and Jungkook is the cutest example of that special relationship. It is a little-known anecdote related to one of the most famous nicknames of BTS' youngest member.

Normally, Jungkook is known for many nicknames such as golden maknae, JK, Kookie, Jungkookie, etc. and fans also love calling him by these nicknames because they bring a sense of closeness or highlight a unique trait of his.

However, to find the most accurate nickname to describe Jungkook, it would probably have to be "soondoongie." And you would never think that this cute and familiar nickname actually originated from none other than Yoongi's father!

Specifically, the birth of his nickname was revealed by the BTS member during a TMI conversation. According to BTS, Yoongi's father often did not call Jungkook by his real name, but called him "soondoongie." In Korean, the meaning of this word comes from a term used to describe someone who is pure and gentle.





Surely after many interactions with Jungkook, Yoongi's father felt that he was a kind young man with proper manners and behaviour. He must have been so impressed by the idol's sincere personality that he loved calling him by this adorable nickname.

Fans realized that Yoongi's father, just like them, had been won over by Jungkook's pure heart. They also agreed that this nickname perfectly describes the warm-hearted superstar—someone who treats everyone kindly and never lets anyone down because of his personality.

Not only that, fans are also delighted to see the closeness between the members and each other's families. The parents of the members love the other members as if they were their own children and have no hesitation in showing affection towards them.

In return, Jungkook also shown his fondness for Yoongi's father many times by imitating his "satoori" (regional dialect) accent. In fact, the voice is so similar that it surprises the other members and makes them burst into laughter every time he showcases his "talent."





In the end, "soondoongie" was added to the list of Jungkook's top nicknames and fans absolutely thrilled by his story.
