Korean Citizens Praise J-Hope For His Sincere Heart In Caring For Abandoned Animals

Thinking of the dog with eye problems that was being raised at his family home, he rescued it, fostered it, and eventually found it an adoptive home.

Because of that, he became deeply fond of cats and ended up taking in and raising two cats—one that had been rescued and another that had been returned after after adoption.

Around February 2022, a lady contacted me after seeing a post about the shelter on my blog, saying she wanted to help. 
(Later, when I found out, I almost fainted!! It was none other than world star BTS J-Hope!!) 
J-Hope's mother said that our shelter looked far too poor and difficult, and that she wanted to offer help.

Like many other shelters, it was in very poor condition. Although we barely manages to avoid flooding, whenever a typhoon came the kennels would collapse, and in the freezing winter the animals had to endure biting cold with their own bodies. 

There were no sponsors, and the caretaker auntie protected and looked after all those animals entirely on her own. 

Then one day, we were contacted by someone who said they wanted to help with repairs to the kennels. At the time, we didn't really know who it was; we simply accepted the kind offer with gratitude and proceeded with the construction. While the work was underway, we found out that the sponsor was BTS's J-Hope and we were completely stunned. Because he did not want it to be made public, we hadn't mentioned it until now, haha.

It was transformed into such a wonderful place that you can't even remember what the old shelter was like. 

Thanks to that, the animals' living environment improved greatly, and they made it through this year's typhoons without any problems!

On February 18, Asan Medical Center in Seoul announced, "J-Hope donated 200 million won to Seoul Asan Medical Center for the development of its Children's hospital. This donation was made in honor of his birthday on February 18, and J-Hope expressed his wish to continue supporting Seoul Asan Medical Center on an ongoing basis."

J-Hope said, "I hope this can be a small help to children who suffering even at this very moment. I sincerely hope that children can grow up healthy and dream of a hopeful future."

He continued, "I wanted to give it back to ARMY, the fans who always send me so much love. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again, and I find it very meaningful that, starting with my birthday this year, I will continue making donations every year."

J-Hope has also practiced his distinctive philosophy of giving by donating 100 million won to Seoul Asan Medical Center in 2022 as well.

It said that this year as well, he has continue to make donations not only for abandoned animals but also consistently for children and marginalized communities, including contributions to children's hospitals and wildfire recovery efforts.

Most of the BTS members take such good care of their pet dogs and cats—it's really heartwarming to see. They consistently show interest in and help abandoned dogs too ㅠㅠ Such angels.

2. Hobi is the real deal. He's on another level in his main profession, and on another level as a human being too. As a fan, he makes me feel proud every time—someone who truly makes me proud to call him my artist.

24. The dog that Hobi's family raises at his parents' home was, I think, tied up at a gas station or somewhere like that and poorly treated. His mother and sister brought the dog home and raised it, and it's already been over ten years. His family—and Hobi too—are really, truly warm-hearted people.

As for Mickey at his family home, I think it was around when J-Hope was in upper elementary or middle school? A grandmother had been looking after the dog after her granddaughter left it with her, but she was having a hard time raising it alone, so after hearing her story, J-Hope's mother and sister took the dog in.
