RM Directly Responds to Fans Who Express Disappointment Toward BTS Amid Recent Controversies
On this day, the fandom was drowning in chaos as some fans developed distorted thoughts and reacted negatively. Fortunately, during times like these, our leader is always the one who appears to give strength to real fans and spiritually guide the fandom.
RM started a short live broadcast of about 20 minutes on the 6th to talk with fans before returning to his busy year-end schedule. This conversation worked like a lifeline for real fans amid the recent complicated situation, especially when many were thinking of leaving the fandom in a not-so-positive way.
RM did not hesitate to address the “disappointment” of “some fans” recently. He got straight to the point:
“Many people are asking, ‘Why did you guys throw late 2025 away?’ Well, of course we didn’t want to throw it away. We wanted to do a lot after discharge, but there are reasons we couldn’t—reasons we can’t say. I have no right to say them. I wanted to as well. Our last concert was in 2022. It’s been more than three years. Of course we’re sincere and want to do a concert right away. But as you know, time flew and we need preparation. I can’t say (I don’t know) about the members, but I have a lot of burden.”
He continued,
“Many people will be frustrated right now… we’ll be frustrated because it’s us, then the company for their reasons, and of course you guys too because you’ve waited for so long. But I’ve never taken it for granted. I’m someone who wants to work right now more than ever—it’s driving me insane. I hope you’re aware of that.”
He also added,
“This live could even backstab me, but those who hate me would continue to hate me no matter what. No matter what I say or how I put things, they’d just hate me and say, ‘He’s always been like that! He just pretends to be kind and smart.’”
He concluded,
“The people who used to like us and then disliked us later might even return when we do well. We’ll be working with that sort of mindset."
These remarks from RM were made in a context where a large number of fans—many of them K-ARMYs—were reacting harshly to the fact that BTS have no group activities scheduled for 2025 and were demanding that the group "pay them back." This group of fans even claimed that if BTS's 2026 comeback fails, then "there will no longer be any domestic fans left.".
Some fans also pointed out that lately, reactions from a portion of K-ARMYs gave become even more severe because of the dating rumor between Jungkook and aespa's Winter. Meanwhile, HYBE's unclear responses to various Korean media articles have caused even greater suspicion.
It seems RM has been observing this situation, which is why he went live and made such statements. The leader's strong words received overwhelming applause from real fans. Many considered this a direct message toward wavering fans or those who have been criticizing and attacking BTS members amid recent complicated circumstances.
ARMYs comments:
1. Aren't BTS allowed to take a break after servubt before going back to the busy idol life? K-ARMYs are so crazy.
2. Who the f are those entitled a*sholes? What gives them the right to demand such things? Ugh, my boys are not your toys!
3. I never expected the Tannies to do anything as 7 in 2025. They told us March 2026, and that's what I thought we were progressing toward. Do people think an album, single, MVs, and content can materialize out of thin air? 2025 was always going to be about laying the groundwork.
4. It's only the Korean ARMYs who are saying that BTS have forgotten their job or the fans... Fck them, fck all of them! I hope BTS promotes more overseas.
5. I'll love him and keep saying he's authentically kind and smart.
6. This is what happens when a person is exposed to continuous hatred for no reason.
7. I love this man. The guys are not the problem. The problem is toxic fans.
8. And fck K-ARMYs! Y'all made us lose many awards this year, many more records too. Now y'all are the front line starting a mass hate train against a member. Y'all don't deserve anything. Like literally nothing. Fck y'all!
9. All K-ARMYs do is complain, refuse to actually be fans of the Tannies, and turn on them every chance they get, but they're quick to jump at every opportunity to get free gifts from them. You lot are actually ridiculous and need to go to hell, actually.
10. K-ARMYs being mad at Jungkook for having tattoos, riding a bike, smoking, and allegedly dating, and acting like Tannies owe then everything. What the f*ck is this mindset? Luckily BTS still has global fanbases.
11. K-ARMYs getting clocked by international ARMYs and Kim Namjoon... Oof.
12. Honestly, the concept of K-ARMYs still throwing tantrums because a BTS members might be dating someone—in 2025. Girl, they're almost 30. Let them enjoy their lives!
