BTS Generate ₩18.2 Billion Per Show, Draws 840.000 Fans Across North America in a Dominant Box Office Success

Global superstar BTS has once again demonstrated its immense worldwide influence by successfully concluding the North American leg of its ARIRANG world tour.

According to BigHit Music on the 30th, BTS kicked off the tour in Tampa, Florida, on April 25 (local time) and went on to perform a total of 15 concerts across five North American cities: El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, and Las Vegas. The group attracted approximately 840,000 fans throughout the tour.

Every show on the North American tour sold out completely. Due to overwhelming demand from fans, additional concerts were added in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas, and those extra dates also sold out, underscoring BTS's extraordinary popularity.

During the tour, BTS performed a diverse setlist featuring songs from their new album ARIRANG alongside many of their greatest hits. Fans packed the venues and enthusiastically sang along to the Korean lyrics while cheering throughout the performances.

One of the most memorable moments came during the performance of the new song "Body to Body," when tens of thousands of audience members joined together in a massive singalong of the Korean folk song "Arirang." The traditional Korean melody echoed throughout the stadiums, creating a powerful and unifying experience that transcended language and nationality.

The tour also attracted significant media attention. ABC7 San Fransisco reported that BTS's popularity has contributed to growing interest in the Korean language and Korean culture. In an interview, Stanford University Korean Korean Studies professor Dafna Zur noted that demand for Korean language, history, culture, and literature has increased substantially.

The tour's commercial performance was equally impressive. Billboard reported that BTS generated $76.2 million (approximately 14.8 billion won) in revenue and sold 417,000 tickets from just eight concerts held in Goyang, Tokyo, and Tampa in April, earning the No. 1 spot on the Top Tours chart. The Tampa shows also set records for the highest grossing and most attended performances at a single venue during the month of April.

Billboard further reported that the average revenue per show in Tampa and El Paso reached US$ 12.1 million (approximately 18.2 billion won). This represents an increase of about 64% compared to BTS's previous world tour, surpassing even the group's own record-setting achievements.

After completing the first leg of the North American tour, BTS briefly returned to South Korea and is scheduled to meet domestic fans at the Busan Asiad Main Stadiumon June 12 and 13. Notably, June 13 marks the 13th anniversary of BTS's debut, making the event a special celebration shared by both the mmebers and their fanbase, ARMY.

BTS will then continue its global journey by launching the European leg of the ARIRANG world tour in Madrid, Spain, at the end of June.
