2 BTS members quietly made donations to a hospital, and ARMYs unexpectedly discovered it

 

BTS are not only symbols of talent, hard work, and success, but are also widely regarded as role models responsibility and compassion. Throughout their careers, the group has not only delivered positive messages about self-love, spoken out on social issues, and encouraged young people to build a better world, but has also taken direct action through meaningful charitable contributions.

One of their most well-known philanthropic projects is their partnership with UNICEF for the "Love Myself" campaign to combat violence and bullying, through which they donated profits from related merchandise sales along with additional funds. Another widely recognized donation was their US$1 million contribution to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. More recently, they also donated 1 billion KRW to the Korean Committee to commemorate the renewal of their contract beginning in 2025.

Beyond the group's collective activities, each member consistently carries out individual charitable projects every year. What is particularly remarkable is that most of the donations the public knows about were either officially disclosed or reported by the media, while countless other contributions have been made quietly without public attention. 

Recently, ARMYs were surprised to discover yet another long-standing act of generosity by two BTS members, Jin and RM.

Specifically, an ARMY shared that she accidentally spotted the names of RM and Jin on the donor recognition wall at the hospital where her mother was undergoing surgery. The moment deeply moved her, prompting her to post a message of gratitude on social media. Her original post read: "On the donor wall at the hospital where my mother underwent surgery, I was touched to see two familiar names. Encountering them at such an unexpected moment gave me immense comfort and strength, and I'm sincerely grateful."

The post quickly attracted attention from other fans. One ARMY commented, "The members somehow always appear at the moments when we are most desperate and give us strength." Others shared similar reactions: "This warms my heart," "They never tell the world about their kindness—they just quietly help people. That's one of the many reasons. I'm proud to be an ARMY," "Imagine going through one of the hardest days of your life and suddenly seeing BTS. I'd cry too," "Actions matter more than words, and they continue to prove it," "Every time I think I couldn't respect Jin and RM any more, they prove me wrong. Their hearts are just as beautiful as their talent," and "They gave us comfort during such a difficult moment," and more. 

In reality, both RM and Jin have maintained regular charitable giving for years, making numerous significant donations. Some of these have been publicly praised by Korean media. For example, after completing his military service, RM personally donated 100 million KRW (approximately US$64.133) to the Ministry of Patriots and Vereran Affairs' "Everyone's Veterans Dream" initiative. He also frequently chooses his birthday as an occasion  to make meaningful donations, such as contributing to the Korean Society of Forensic Science in 2023 and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, in 2020.

As for Jin, he has long been known for keeping his good deeds private. He quietly made monthly donations to UNICEF, and fans only learned my children later that he had become an official member of the UNICEF Honors Club. Beyond financial contributions, Jin has also personally volunteered his time. Following the devastating wildfires in southeastern South Korea last April, get quietly visited the free cafetaria at Gilan High School, where he worked as a volunteer serving meals to displaced residents and firefighters. The facility provided approximately 1,000 meals each day. 

For many fans, the most admirable aspect is not monetary value of these donations, but the way BTS choose to help others without seeking publicity or recognition. The accidental discovery of RM and Jin's names on the hospital's donor wall has only reinforced this image, earning the two K-pop superstars even greater respect from fans around the world.
