ARMYs expose the disturbing truth behind the Yeontan plush at the BTS concert; fans are relieved V refused to keep it

If fans remember, during BTS's final anniversary concert in Busan, there was a viral moment when V ran into the edge of the side stage and embraced a Yeontan plush toy. The idol was seen gently picking up the plush, gazing at it  affectionately, and softly stroking it as if reminiscing about the four-legged companion who had once been by his side. Even Jin, who happened to be walking past, stopped out of curiosity to touch the plush toy, smiled, lightly patted V on the shoulder, and then continued on his way.

After holding the plush toy for a few seconds with a bright smile on his face, V carefully returned it to its owner. He even placed his hand over his chest and bleed in gratitude to the fan for "bringing" Yeontan to the concert. Given the special bond V shared with Yeontan, the moment deeply moved countless ARMYs and quickly became one of the most heartwarming scenes of the night.

However, had people known at the time what many fans later shared about the owner of the plush toy, many probably would not have found the moment so touching. In fact, some might have reacted in the exact opposite way—with anger.

According to a Chinese fan, the woman who owned the Yeontan plush allegedly had a premeditated plan to approach V. The fan claimed that the woman told others she had imagined a scenario in which Taehyung would walk down the stairs, come directly to her, take Yeontan, hold her phone so they could take a selfie together, pat her on the head, and then walk away carrying the plush toy.

The fan also pointed out that, based on several videos allegedly recorded and uploaded by the woman herself on the Chinese version of TikTok, V was not the one who wanted to hold the plush toy. Instead, he allegedly declined multiple times before eventually touching it. The first attempt reportedly occured at her original seat near the main stage, where Jungkook noticed her and pointed her out to V. The second time, after she continued waving the plush toy, V allegedly refused more clearly. On the third attempt, she reportedly ran to the side stage and asked the staff member to bring Yeontan plush closer before V approached. Even then, he only touched it briefly rather than accepting it.

Another audience member who attended the concert in person also shared their experience. According to this account, "This woman has absolutely no manners. When Taehyung came to the smaller stage, she suddenly appeared out of nowhere and stood right in front of me, completely blocking my view," the attendee wrote.

At first, V remained focused on his performance and paid no attention to her. However, after she repeatedly waved the plush toy to attract his attention, he finally looked in her direction.

The attendee believed that V's facial expression in the video appeared awkward and uncomfortable. They continued:

"You can tell from the video how uncomfortable he looked. He then turned toward the other side of the smart stage and only looked back after a while. (In video 2, it seems as though he was no longer fully focused on singing and kept checking whether that woman had left. He even appeared to ask a staff member, 'Has she gone?' and only left because she wanted to make a bigger move. She handed the dog (Tannie) to a staff member and asked them to pass it to him. That's why, later on, there was footage of Taehyung receiving Tannie, briefly touching it, and then returning it to her."

The allegations did not stop there. Fans also presented what they described as evidence that the woman frequently livestreamed with the Yeontan plush on the Chinese version of TikTok, sharing fantasies about being in a relationship with V, including expressing a desire to "sleep" with him—behavior that many ways characterized as resembling that of a sasaeng fan.

As these livestreams attracted the attention of trusting fans, she allegedly created group chats related to obtaining BTS concert tickets and used them to operate as a ticket broker or intermediary.

Within the group, she reportedly shared a QR code and invited people planning to attend specific BTS concert dates to join. She claimed the group would be used for activities such as organizing large group photos and coordinating banner-signing projects at the concert venue. She also stated that a separate group from the Hong Kong shows would be created after ticket sales opened.

Later, someone directly asked her, "Aren't you a ticket scscalper?" She reportedly replied, "No, I'm not. I can just help you negotiate prices with scalpers."

She repeatedly instead that she was neither a ticket agent nor a scalper, claiming that she simply knew ticket agents in Hong Kong and wanted to help fans obtain tickets. At the same time, she said that ticket prices were not determined by her, even though tickets with an original face value of 6,000 Yuan (US$820) were allegedly being "negotiated" and sold to fans for as much as 9,000 Yuan (US$1, 230).

Because of these disturbing allegations, many fans said they now understood why V appeared reluctant to accept the plush toy from the very beginning and ultimately only touched it briefly before returning it. Some speculated that perhaps V sensed something was off about the woman, or that his instincts simply told him to keep his distance.

For those who had emotionally wondered the night before whether V might take the Yeontan plush home as a keepsake, many now say they feel relieved that he did not. Given what they described as the woman's disturbing behavior, some even speculated about what could have been hidden inside the plush toy, such as a concealed camera or a tracking device.

Across online communities, these shocking allegations have sparked numerous reactions from fans around the world:

"Using this method to clout-chase is seriously crossing the line."

"I found it really touching at first, but then I found out she's a scalper, and I just can't wrap nh head around her clout-chasing behavior."

"TaeTae, if you see her again during the Asia tour dates, please don't acknowledge her! She's so malicious."

"Using the pain of losing a beloved pet for entertainment's shows a complete of respect."

"She's wearing such an ugly mask to deceive people with genuine hearts."

"Doesn't her conscience hurt at all? Absolutely disgusting."
