[Article Translation] [Exclusive] Brazilian Fan Who Stalke BTS's Jungkook Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison, Suspended for 2 Years... "Scheduled for Deportation"

Visited his home for about 22 times over the course of a month, rang the doorbell hundreds of times, and threw mail into the residence
Ignored police warnings and restraining order
Despite Jungkook's side requesting severe punishment, she received a sentence of one year in prison suspended for two years

A foreign fan from Brazilian nationality who repeatedly pressed the doorbell of BTS member Jungkook's (real name: Jeon Jung Kook) front door 133 times in  single night and sneaked into his residence by following a delivery driver has received a suspended prison sentence and now faces deportation from South Korea.

On May 8, Judge Park Ji-won of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced a Brazilian woman identified as A, who had been indicted while detained on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and trespassing, to one year of prison suspended for two years.

Ranging the Doorbell 133 Times in One Night... Sneaking Inside by Targeting a Delivery Worker

The incident dates back to December of last year. According to the court ruling, defendant A, a Brazilian national, visited Jungkook's residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, 22 times over approximately one month, from December 7, 2025.

A wandered around the area near his home while waiting for Jungkook, threw objects over the wall, and pushed letters through gaps in the door. In particular, from the evening of December 12 until nighttime, she showed extreme obsession by ringing the doorbell 133 times.

A's misguided fan obsession went beyond simply lingering nearby and escalated into trespassing. On the evening of December 13, A saw a food delivery worker enter Jungkook's residence through a side entrance.

She waited in front of the door and, when the deliver worker came out, used the open side gate to secretly enter Jungkook's home.

Court: "Misguided Fan Behavior Even Ignored an Order Prohibiting Contract"

A was eventually arrested at the scene that day. The following day, she was released after police issued a strict warning telling her not to go near the residence.

However, her actions did not stop. Immediately after her release, she continued visiting Jungkook's home, pressing the doorbell and throwing mail into the property.

After ignoring the police warning and continuing the stalking behavior, A was issued an "emergency temporary measure" on December 28, which prohibited her from approaching within 100 meters of Jungkook's residence and other related locations.

This measure was an immediate police action designated to physically prevent a stalking offender from approaching the victim, and it was later approved by the court.

Despite this, A once again committed another offense on January 4 by leaving photos and printed materials near Jungkook's home. She was eventually detained and brought to trial on charges of violating the Act of Punishment of Stalking Crimes and trespassing.

Court: "No Intent to Harm, and Deportation Is Expected"... Suspended Sentence Despite Request for Strict Punsihment

Judge Park Ji-won of the Seoul Western District Court, who presided over the case, sentenced A to one year  in prison suspended for two years.

The court stated, "The defendant committed the offense even after being released following a police warning, failed to comply with the emergency temporary measure, and the victim has requested severe punishment."

However, the court considered the motive behind the crime and the extent of the harm caused. The court explained, "It appears that the defendant committed the offenses in an attempt to convey her feelings to the victim, and it is judged that she did not directl recognized the doorbell ringing at the time, the defendant did not deeply enter the indoor living area (such as a room), and the degree of violation of the emergency temporary measures was relatively minor.

The court then cited deportation as a key reason for reducing the punishment. The judge stated, "The defendant had been detained for approximately three months, and once this judgement becomes final, she is expected too be forcibly deported from the country. Therefore, the risk of her committing another offense against the victim is considered low."

Thus, despite Jungkook's side requesting strict punishment, the court granted a suspended sentence, taking into account the circumstances and the expected deportation.
