BTS choose the member who has grown and changed the most after more than a decade together

 

BTS debuted on June 13, 2013. On June 13, 2026, they celebrated their 13th anniversary together in Busan, where more than 100,000 fans attended that concerts in person while millions more watched online from around the world. After more than a decade of promoting together, even the group's youngest member, Jungkook—who debuted at just 15 years old—is now approaching his 30s.

Although age is just a number, there's no denying that the passage of time had brought significant changes to both their personal lives and their careers.

It could be said that every member's coming-of-age journey has been deeply intertwined with BTS's career. The ups and downs they have experienced together have shaped them into the world-renowned K-pop superstars in their 30s that we see today. Looking back on this journey, if fans were asked to guess without hearing the members' opinions, many would probably choose Jungkook as the member who has undergone the most remarkable transformation—in terms of appearance, personality, and overall aura. 

However, the members themselves seemed to have a different opinion. While discussing the question, "Who is the most mature member?" The members gave a variety of answers. 

At first, Yoongi quickly pointed to Seokjin, saying that he deserved the title the most. The other members joined in with humorous reasons, teasing Seokjin simply because he is the oldest in the group. Jimin joked that Seokjin "complains a lot," while Taehyung commented that Seokjin "isn't childish at all." In response to the members' playful "accusations," Seokjin laughed in disbelief and explained that he intentionally acts "childish," "playful," and "cute" because he wants to be "on the same level" as the younger members. Acting that way helps him forget the age gap between them. 

However, once the discussion turned serious, the group reached unanimous conclusion: Jimin. 

Namjoon commented, "I have a lot of respect for Jimin. He's the most adult in our group, in a way."

In a live streaming, Namjoon further explained his perspective by comparing Yoongi and Jimin. "Many people think that Yoongi hyung is like the grandfather of the group, but he actually acts more like a little kid. Jimin is the opposite—he looks like a baby, but inside he's mature, like a grandfather," he said, clarifying what he believed to be a common misunderstanding among fans. 

During an appearance on Epik High's talk show, both Namjoon and Yoongi spoke candidly about how much they had relied on their younger bandmates during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Namjoon openly referred to Jimin as BTS's "hub," prompting rapper Tablo to describe him as the group's "emotional support hub." Yoongi also reflected on the emotional support Jimin has provided since their debut, saying that he "gets along with Jimin because he's so good-humored and mature."

Likewise, Hobi shared his own heartfelt thoughts, saying, "Jiminie is my dongsaeng, but sometimes I feel like he's my hyung. He likes to joke around, but the way he thinks is very mature." In another interview, he praised Jimin for his "big heart and emotional maturity," explaining that Jimin helps him relieve stress during difficult times. On another occasion, he elaborated on this by saying, "Park Jimin is my laugh button. Whenever I'm having a hard time or feeling completely exhausted, I just poke Jimin, and he always makes me laugh."

Similarly, Seokjin praised Jimin for being a constant source of positive energy, always taking care of the members during exhausting tours and lifting the group's spirits. Considering that Jimin is one of the younger members of BTS, Seokjin's praise highlights just how mature Jimin's actions and mindset truly are. Jungkook also named Jimin and Namjoon when he was asked, "Which member do you consult the most about your concerns?" in a Harper's Bazaar interview, further reinforcing this impression. 

On the other hand, among the members of the "maknae line," Jimin stands out as someone who often feels like an older brother to the other two. Taehyung called him his "best friend," saying that talking with Jimin always gives him strength and motivation. Jungkook also admitted that the group's emotional balance owes much to Jimin's kind and thoughtful personality, thanking him for helping maintain harmony with BTS. 

In the end, the members' answers made one thing clear: maturity is not defined by age or the passage of time. Each member of BTS has matured in their own unique way, but when it comes to emotional depth and inner growth, the members themselves believe that Jimin stands out the most.
