BTS Members Stop Posting on TikTok Due to Hacking? A Strange Account Activity Recently Confuses Fans
As a group that has effectively leveraged social media as both a promotional tool and a way to communicate with fans since their debut, BTS has become inseparable from online platforms. In recent years, the rapid growth of various social media services has allowed the group to expand its online presence even further. Beyond X (Twitter), BTS has remained active on Instagram and Weverse, while some members have shown a particular preference for TikTok. Most recently, they have also joined Threads.
With fans eager not to miss even the smallest update from their idols, BTS's social media accounts are monitored almost around the clock. Recently, however, fans have paid special attention to the latest activity on the TikTok account of J-Hope, V, and Jungkook, where they discovered several suspicious irregularities.
Specifically, the BTS members have not posted any new content on their personal TikTok accounts approximately for the past 15 days. Jungkook's latest video was uploaded on May 25, V's last update came on May 26, while J-Hope has not posted anything since May 30. Considering their busy schedules following the completion of their military service and their preparations for upcoming activities, their reduced presence on TikTok would normally be understandable.
However, on June 16th, these personal account—as well as BTS's official TikTok account—simultaneously displayed a puzzling new activity. Under the comment sections of previously uploaded videos, strange polls suddenly appeared. All of these polls seemed to serve the same purpose: encouraging users to follow an account name "dudegeorgesontg."
The unusual activity left fans confused. When searching for the account on TikTok, users were directed to an unfamiliar individual with no clear connection to BTS or any other artists involved. As a result, many began to suspect that the members' accounts, along with BTS's official account, may have been compromised through unauthorized access.
What makes the situation even more noteworthy is that after ARMYs spread awareness of the issue, fans of other artists reporte experiencing the same phenomenon. Verified accounts belonging to several well-known celebrities were also found to be displaying similar suspicious polls, including those of ENHYPEN, Chiara Calisto, Stray Kids, aespa, TWS, and even Oliver Tree. The case involving Oliver Tree attracted particular attention, as reportsn claiming that the singer had tragically died in a helicopter crash had surfaced just one day earlier.

In response to the situation, the ARMY community quickly reported the issue to both TikTok and BigHit Music, urging them to investigate and intervene if this is indeed a security breach. One message quickly circulated among fans reas:
"The official TikTok accounts of V, Jungkook, and J-Hope appear to be posting unauthorized polls promoting external accounts. Please investigate this potential security issue . @BIGHIT_MUSIC @HYBEOFFICIALtwt."
As of now, neither TikTok nor BigHit Music has issued an official statement regarding the incident. Therefore, the theory that BTS's accounts have been hacked remains speculation within the online community. Nevertheless, the simultaneous appearance of these unusual activities across multiple verified celebrity accounts has left many fans concerned and waiting for an explanation from the relevant parties.
Fans have since been activites discussing the incident across various online communities:
● "It seems like that's the case, but that would mean this person hacked hundreds of other accounts."
● "This is happening to other celebs too, dawg. Why is everything wrong with that app?"
● "I'm looking through TikTok comments, and people are saying it's a glitch, but I don't know..."
● "Their password must have been 'welovearmys123.'"
● "Maybe he paid them to promote his account. But, who is he?"
● "Hobi is posting on Instagram and doesn't even have a clue what's going on."
● "This reminds me of when Tyla got hacked."
● "Look at my idols getting hacked together, dawg. They're never beating the family allegations."
● "How can someone hack four BTS accounts at the same time? And how did Oliver Tree create that poll an hour ago?"
