Jungkook reveals the BTS hyung who has always treated him the greatest kindness

In a one-on-one interview with Rolling Stone, veteran journalist Brian Hiatt brought up the case of George Harrison—the youngest member of the legendary band The Beatles—who struggled with always being treated as "the youngest," even as he grew older. Brian wondered whether BTS's youngest member, Jungkook, felt the same way.

The Golden Maknae immediately denied it with a smile. "No. I love being the youngest," he said. He firmly added that he has always enjoyed this role. "I've always felt very comfortable being the youngest. That's how I feel now."

One of the main reasons Jungkook enjoys being the youngest is likely the care and affection he receives from the other six BTS members. In another interview, he shared, "I think there certainly was a special privilege to being the youngest [member], and I received a lot of help in ways that I may or may not even realize. The members are such nice people."

Jungkook has also repeatedly acknowledged that all the member's helped raise him for the time he was 15 years old. He has been deeply influenced by all six of them throughout his growth, stating, "I think I learned a lot of great things from them. I received so much help from all six of them—it allowed me to grow into the person I am today."

Clearly, each of the older members holds a unique and irreplaceable place in Jungkook's heart. That is why choosing just one of them has never been an easy task for the Golden Maknae. However, if he had to name the BTS member who has never once raised his voice at him, Jungkook would choose Yoongi.

Specifically, Jungkook revealed that Yoongi is the only member who has never scolded him throughout the 15 years since he first moved into the BTS dorm. The Golden Maknae even confidently stated, "Yoongi hyung would never scold me."

During a live broadcast, some time ago, Jungkook shared that he once asked Yoongi to teach him how to play the piano but was turned down. The reason was simple—Yoongi didn't want to end up scolding Jungkook if he made mistakes while practicing. Scolding Jungkook simply doesn't seem to exist in Yoongi's "tsundere" dictionary.

Similarly, at a fan signing event, when asked wheter he had ever scolded members, Yoongi admitted that he had scolded the others—but never Jungkook. He further explained why he always reminds himself never to raise his voice at the youngest member: "Beacusse doing so to a child is inappropriate."

Yoongi has witnessed Jungkook's growth firsthand and perhaps understands that the youngest member did not have an easy childhood. While many other children were being cared for by their parents and driven to school, enjoying the simple joys of youth, 15-year-old Jungkook moved to Seoul alone, striving to overcome fierce competition from older and more experienced trainees to earn a place in BTS's debut lineup. There were times when he did not get enough food or sleep, and free time was a rare luxury.

In Yoongi's eyes, Jungkook is truy a very good boy, and he wants to treat him with the utmost care and kindness. Perhaps he believes that his gentleness can help Jungkook feel loved and ease some of the hardship he experienced during his teenage years.

Thanks to Yoongi's unwavering kindness over the years. Jungkook has grown into someone with a bright spirit and a compassionate heart. That influence has shaped the way he interacts with everyone around him. This is why those who work with Jungkook are impressed not only by his talent but also his kindness.

Athough Yoongi may appear cold and reserved on the outside, he actually has a warm heart and a unique way of expressing his affection. The way he treats Jungkook—and the other members—demonstrates just how deeply he cares for them.

Another moment that highlights Yoongi's character came when the remaining members enlisted. Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook enlisted in December, while Yoongi had begun his military service three months earlier. Under normal circumtances, requesting leave would have been extremely difficult. However, he reportedly worked for three months without taking a single day off so that he could save up two precious days of leave to his younger brothers off.

Ultimately, BTS truly is a family. Growing up together as forged a bond that people aorund the world cannot help but admire—and perhaps even envy.
