RM Opens Up About the Colors Representing Each BTS Member

Color plays a a vital role in our daily lives, holding a deep connection to human personality and energy. Every shade of the rainbow carries its own mood and meaning, subtly capturing the unique nature of the individual it represents.

Beyond aesthetics, colors can even serve as a tool for personal harmony. V once shared his interest in saju (Korean fortune-telling), revealing how he uses color to balance the four pillars of his destiny. After learning that his birth chart leaked the "fire" element while being heavily dominated by "water," he frequently wears red clothing to bring his personal fortune back into balance.

While guessing which shades best suit each  member of BTS might seem challenging, leader RM offers a uniquely insightful perspective. Having spent more than a decade working alongside his members, he thoughtfully assigned signature colors to describe both his bandmates' distinct traits and his own—providing a remarkably accurate reflection of the group's true dynamics.

It's no surprise that RM chose dark indigo or navy blue for himself. RM's "Indigo" primarily features these two shades, and clearly, they suit his personality perfectly. His love of green is also fitting for someone who appreciates nature. Meanwhile, blue is the color of the sky and ocean, and in many cultures, it is considered a calming color associated with peace, wisdom, and stability. And that perfectly describes RM!

For Jin, RM chose light pink, which is also one of Jin's favorite colors. Pink is traditionally associated with love and femininity, while Jin has broken gender stereotypes by sporting vibrant nd playful pink outfits. Flowers, gems, and birds are all sources of pink in nature, and the color is actually quite similar to Jin himself.

RM chose dark grey as Suga's color. Like Suga, gray is cool and balanced. It possesses a subtle strength and is often associated with sophistication. In nature, gray can be found in steel, stone, and ash, reflecting the resilience, hard work, and dedication that Suga has demonstrated throughout the past decade—qualities that have helped shape him into the person he is today.

Next, RM chose a vibrant color that perfectly matches J-Hope's personality: red. Love, passion, luck, and happiness are all associated with this color. Red is also one of the primary colors, forming a fundamental part of the color spectrum—just as J-Hope serves as a source of joy and hope for his members and fans.

For Jimin, RM chose light yellow, a bright and beautiful that suits Jimin perfectly. Sunshine and happiness are both associated with the color yellow—two things that Jimin brings into the lives of those who around him every day. Yellow also evokes a sense of softness and warmth, much like of Jimin's considerate personality and warm heart.

While most fans associate V with the color purple thanks to his famous phrase, "borahae" ("I purple you"), RM describes V as having a color to green. In nature, green can be found in plants, forests, and many different animals. Green is associated with vitality, healing, and creativity—all traits that can also be found in V.

Last but not least is the Golden Maknae, Jungkook. For Jungkook, RM chose the color he most often wears: black. Visual artists often favor black outfits because they create an impressive sense of simplicity while still conveying power. While many people believe that black represents honor and honesty, these are also two qualities that can clearly be seen in Jungkook.

What do you guys think? Do you think the colors RM chose for each member suit them, or not? No matter what colors he picked, RM is definitely going to have the perfect explanation for each and every one of his members!
