Post by a BTS Backup Dancer Regarding the Situation at Their Hotel Draws Attention
Being harassed by fans camping outside their hotels during their world tour has become a recurring problem for BTS. In July this year, V spoke out on Weverse, saying, "We would appreciate it if you could refrain from coming all the way to our hotel," following repeated incidents of crowds gathering and causing disturbances outside the group's accommodation during the European leg of their tour.
Just three months after V's plea, BTS once again found themselves dealing with the same issue during their stop in Lima, Peru. The noise from the crowds outside was so loud that it carried directly into their rooms, leaving both the members and staff unable to get enough sleep. The situation also risked disturbing other guests staying at the hotel, prompting BTS leader RM to speak out directly and earnestly ask people to stop gathering outside.
Despite RM's plea and the local authorities' enhanced security measures, the crowds continued to gather, pushing the situation far beyond the boundaries of an ordinary invasion of privacy. A recent update from a member of BTS's crew has further fueled public outrage.
Specifically, a Taiwanese backup dancer accompanying BTS on the South American leg of their tour, who is currently staying at the same hotel as the group during their three-night concert run in Lima, shared noteworthy message on their Instagram Story. "Please just stay away from the hotel. You'v already been warned. We love Peru but why do you keep making noise and disturbing people? It's really annoying.," the dancer wrote.
Not long afterward, the same backup dancer posted another Instagram story, writing, "And stop sending me pictures of the hotel. Nobody is going to congratulate you for that. What you're doing is nothing to be proud of. Just give up."
The post quickly spread throughout the fan community, leaving many fans shocked by how far the harassment had escalated. One fan exclaimed, "It's so embarrassing and sad, bruh. They aren't getting enough rest. Can people just go home and let them rest, along with everyone else staying at the same hotel? This is getting out of hand. Do these people even have a hint of humanity?"
Other fans also expressed their anger in response to the news, leaving comments such as, "This is f*cked up. No one can rest," "At this point, they should ask the police to take strict action or cancel the shows!!" "This is seriously getting out of hand. The level of disrespect is absolutely disgusting," "The worst part is that they aren't even ARMYs; they're random people who just want to make money from TikTok live streams," "The harassment they're suffering isn't normal with this message from the dancer, I wouldn't be surprised if BTS ends up hating the country," and "What a shame with these stupid people."
Even before the Instagram Story was posted, reports indicated that large crowds continue to gather around the hotel where BTS were staying, despite RM's message and Lima's mayor announcing increased security measures to protect the group. While some people had gathered for a nearby drone show organized to welcome BTS, others reportedly remained after the event ended. Reports also described continued shouting, disturbances in the streets, and laser beams being directed at the window of rooms where BTS were resting.

The situation has also extended to the social media accounts of people working alongside the group with reports of repeated messages being sent to crew members. Sharing hotel information, posting photography to demonstrate proximity to the group, and attempting to approach artists and their staff in private spaces have become additional points of concern. These activities raise questions about the boundaries between fan engagement and the privacy of performers and their colleagues.
Despite RM's direct request for people to refrain from gathering outside the hotel, reports of continued activity have raised questions about what further measures may be needed to protect the privacy and rest of BTS members, their staff, and other hotel guests.
